Dr. Arkebe Qqubay, board Chairman of Industrial Parks Development Cooperation and special economic advisor to the Prime Minister calls upon UK investors to participate in the expanding Ethiopia’s manufacturing sector.

The Chairman extends the invitation upon the opening ceremony of the Ethio-UK Trade and Investment Forum in London on October 17, 2018. The Forum aims to promote and expand the trade and investment relation between the two countries. Organized by WAFA Marketing and Promotion along with Developing Markets Associate (DMA) and Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Forum, has gathered around 40 companies from Ethiopia and 150 UK companies.

The quota and duty free access the country has to various international markets is sure to benefit investors that would like to engage in the economy, stated Dr. Arkebe during the Forum. Furthermore, the government is currently taking various actions that would make the investment environment of the country more suitable for investors and he calls for UK investors to engage in textile, leather, agro-processing, mining, and energy sectors.  Since, 2012 the investment flow to Ethiopia has been increasing and the government is working towards becoming the top investment destination in Africa by 2025, according to Dr. Arkebe.

Various UK investors in Ethiopia who have participated in the Forum have also given their positive accounts of investing in the country.
